CIFELLI selected by the Council for Canadian Unity to supply a youth-centric Internet filter

Ottawa, ON-October 06, 2000 - CIFELLI Corporation was selected by the Council for Canadian Unity to supply its Encounters with Canada program with a youth-centric Internet browsing filter.

High School students from across Canada converge weekly on the nation's capital at the Terry Fox Youth Center. It is an exciting environment where they can meet other students, share their experiences, dreams, and visions for the future Canada they will help shape. In keeping with the vision of Canada's future as a technology and content provider, Encounters with Canada has embraced the Internet and has implemented a lab of 20+ PCs that permit the visiting youth to surf the Internet. To ensure they have a safe and positive surfing experience, we were asked to provide a solution which would censor and block access to offensive visual and verbal content. The solution chosen was from Net Nanny Software Ltd. (http://www.netnanny.com).

Gilles Brousseau, IT Manager with the Council for Canadian Unity, commented "It is imperative that the kids not be subjected to the myriad of negative stuff readily available on the Internet. Parents from across Canada entrust their kids to us and we must do our utmost to ensure their experience here is as positive as possible. CIFELLI is keenly aware of this need and was able to provide rapid analysis and delivery of the content filter."

Canadawide

Ottawa, ON-July 17, 2000 - CIFELLI Corporation was selected by the Canadawide Scientific Ltd.  (CWS) to supply it with custom cWare™ solutions.

"CWS presents a new challenge for CIFELLI. This is our first project using RPG on the IBM AS/400 series mini-computer. With our vast database of talent, we were able to retain the requisite skills. Combined with our background in software development and project management, our proposal was readily selected" said Tony Cifelli, President & CEO of CIFELLI.

Various critical accounting and business forms were developed (including Invoices, Packing Lists, etc.) to integrate with Cayenta's (http://www.cayenta.com) workflow database.

Debbie Bird, Vice President of CWS, commented "The CIFELLI team remained focused throughout and delivered timely quality results. The components they developed integrated smoothly with the code base of the 3rd party. We were able to go live with the new system with minimal disruption and have been using their code as an integral part of our daily business activity."

CIFELLI exhibits at OCRI'2000

Kanata, ON-March 29, 2000 - CIFELLI Corporation exhibits for the fifth consecutive year at the OCRI '2000 show held at the COREL Centre in Kanata. Approximately 150 exhibitors at this year's show.

Tony Cifelli, President & CEO of CIFELLI, said "It is always exciting for us to participate in this show. We showed off excellent DVD solutions integrated with a component from each of our cX™ line. Our offering is clearly rounding out. I am particularly pleased with its overall performance and ease of integration."

The demo this year is of two (2) DVD movies playing concurrently while transferring a 500MB file between the two (2) nodes executing MPEG2 decodes.

The first node is a cBox™ [Intel PIII-500; 128MB PC100 SDRAM; ATI XPert98 8MB AGP; Fujitsu 4.5MB SCSI HDD; Pioneer 6x IDE DVD-ROM; 3Com 10/100 NIC; MS Win98; SONY 21" Trinitron monitor] integrated with our cPEG™ hardware decode solution [Ravisent CineMaster98™ MPEG2 decoder].

The second node is a cBook™ KF59U [14.1" XTFT; Intel PIII-µPGA2-650 w/ SpeedStep™; 128MB PC100 SDRAM; ATI 8MB Rage LT PRO 2x AGP video; Pioneer 8x EIDE DVD-ROM; Toshiba 12.GB EIDE HDD; (built-in) Lucent 56K v.90 faxmodem; PC card 10/100 NIC] integrated with our cPEG™ software decode solution [CyberLink PowerDVD™].

The cBook™ and cBox™ are connected via a cNet™ NSH-504 Fast Ethernet switch [4 UTP; 1 BNC/AUI; up-link crossover].

With both movies playing simultaneously, and no file file transfer, cpu utilization is 25% on the cBook™ (software decode) and 2% on the cBox™ (hardware decode). With the file transfer in progress, cpu utilization rises to 65% on the cBook™ (software decode) and 30% on the cBox™ (hardware decode). No video frames dropped during file transfer as evidenced by clean and smooth video playback on both software and hardware decode solutions.
