cPEG C3.0 DVD / MPEG2 Decoder
The cPEG
C3.0 decoder (a.k.a. as cifePEG) is a hardware
PCI-based DVD / MPEG2 decoder card for those
that wish to playback movie titles or raw video streams stored on a PC's
local DVD drive, hard drive, or remotely from a source over a LAN or the
Internet. Applications include: entertainment (personal and public),
training, information kiosk, content authoring (known to work with: Sonic
Scenarist® & DVD PrePlay™; Apple
Spruce DVDMaestro®), proofing film to DVD video transfer, high-grade surveillance (property,
military, ...), etc..
Dissatisfied with software DVD / MPEG2 decoders? Imagine having smooth non-jerky
playback, no more dropped frames, and being able to hear crystal clear
surround sound in Dolby digital audio. Use our hardware decoder.
Thanks to DMA technology, only 1-3% of your computer's cpu is utilized during even the most intense
playback sequences. Leaving lots of free MIPs to surf the Internet, check
e-mail, balance your books, crunch numbers on your spreadsheet, or work
on that document that beckons - whatever - you will be amazed how well
this product plays back seamlessly.
It is simple to install and produces impeccable video
and audio output. It has two (2) video outputs (Analog S-Video +
Analog RCA Composite) and two (2) audio outputs (Analog 1/8" Mini
Stereo + Digital S/PDIF RCA style, line level output) for full Dolby
AC-3 - 5.1 Channel; Dolby ProLogic - 2 Channel; Stereo - 2 Channel.

Video Card CompatibilityThe cPEG
C 3.0 operates in a standalone mode (meaning it functions
independent of any video card). It also goes one step further by
supporting a feature called digital inlay. Digital inlay allows
the decoder to write directly into a video card's display RAM via the
26-pin VPE port. This provides the truest, clearest, and highest
performance playback of any decoder on the market. Not all video cards
support this feature though. There are several manufacturers and variants of video cards using
the ATi and nVidia chipsets that do. To eliminate any possible confusion, we also supply a
cross-section of such video cards to meet any performance or application
need. All video cards we sell are 100% guaranteed to support digital
inlay with the cPEG
C 3.0. They can be bundled with the decoder or purchased separately.

Decoder Cabling Instructions
Take the supplied video VMI cable, and connect it from the cPEG
C3.0 VMI video port to the video card VMI video port as
follows:
- connect one end to the cPEG
C3.0 so that that
the red line (pin-1) of the cable goes
to pin-1 on the decoder card (closest to the external connectors
i.e. back of your PC).
- connect the other end to the video card so that the
red line (pin-1) of the cable goes to
pin-1 on the video card. Pin-1 should be labeled on the video card
or will be specified in the documentation that came with your
system.
Take the supplied SoundBlaster audio cable, and connect it from the cPEG
C3.0 "audio out" to your sound card's audio-in.
